The Invasive Animals CRC undertook organisation of the successful 14th Australasian Vertebrate Pest Conference, held in Darwin 10-13 June 2008. The Organising Committee were Tony Peacock, Glen Saunders, Chris Lane, Glenn Edwards, Darlene Lion and Ben Reddiex, with OnQ Conference Support providing professional organisation of the conference.
The Australasian Vertebrate Pest Control Conference program was varied and interesting with 137 papers and 25 posters registered for presentation including 10 overseas speakers. This was 60 spoken papers more than the 13th AVPC held in Wellington, NZ in 2005. In excess of 300 registrations were received for the conference. Carbon offsets through Carbon Friendly in Melbourne were purchased to offset approximately 30% of the emissions generated by the conference.
