Over 400 have registered for the Conference at this stage.

Due to a family crisis, our invited keynote Professor David Blustein is no longer able to participate in the Conference in Hobart.  The conference committee has worked hard to replace Professor Blustein and an updated program has been uploaded to the site.

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

Career Landscape: From Island to Global
is the central theme of the 2008 AACC conference. This conference is about the environmental context of career development, which will be explored through the key strands of:

Work location – rural, regional, urban, global
This sub-theme is intended to capture the influence of geographic location on career development and on the work of career practitioners and the ways that career practitioners assist their clients.

Work patterns – changing ways of working
This sub-theme is intended to capture the different ways of working brought about by changes in the world of work and globalization.

Work transitions – the career lifespan
This sub-theme is intended to capture career transitions throughout the lifespan and the corresponding need to develop a career culture and equip people with the skills to manage life, learning and work across the lifespan.

With an emphasis on practical tools, techniques and strategies delegates will be exposed to ideas on ways to assist clients living in rural and regional settings as well as urban and global locations to manage career transitions throughout the lifespan. The conference will explore the different ways of working, brought about by changes in the world of work and globalization as inspiration for managing career transitions. ________________________________________________________
