The VPC, through the Australasian Vertebrate Pest Conference Organising Committee invites the submission of expressions of interest for presentations that address the following conference themes:
- Invasiveness (including risk analyses, prediction, effects of climate change)
- Context for pest animal control (including legislation, national strategies, funding, animal welfare)
- Current and emerging international pest animal issues
- Pest fish impacts and control
- New tools and methods for pest animal control
- Commercial use of pest animal species
- Island refuges and control programs
- Prioritising pest animal control programs (including working with NRMs)
- Pest bird impacts and control
- Managing new incursions (including rapid response)
- Harnessing the community for pest animal control
- Managing pest animals and their impacts in production settings
- Managing pest animals and their impacts for biodiversity and conservation
- Pest animal control for farm and urban biodiversity
- Monitoring abundance and impacts of pest animals
- Landscape level control programs and their evaluation
- Cane toad impacts and control
Papers can be presented in several formats:
Reviews: single speaker; 30 minute presentations followed by 15 minute questions
Symposia: 3, 4 or 5 speakers; 60 minute presentation time (total) with 30 minutes of discussion.
Contributed papers: single speaker; 10 minute presentation followed by 5 minutes discussion
Rapid Reports: single speaker; 3 minute presentation followed by 2 minutes of questions (note; these presentations limited to 3 slides)
Posters: unlimited number.
