STREAM TWO will provide the following unit of training
PSPREG411A – Gather Information Through Interviews
One of the most important skills in for any investigator is the ability to effectively gather information through interviews. No matter what the nature of the investigation conducted by the animal management officer – attack, straying or breach of control order – it is essential that the officer obtain all relevant information from victims and witnesses.
This workshop will introduce attendees to interviewing techniques that have been proven to increase the quality and quantity of information gathered from interviews. It doesn’t matter whether the interview takes place in the field or in a formal setting – the techniques covered in the workshop can be used anywhere to achieve measurable improvements.
But a brilliant interview by itself will not guarantee success in the investigation. It needs to be presented in a format that complies with the rules of evidence and ensures its admissibility in court. This workshop will explain how the information gathered from the interview can be incorporated in the officer’s brief of evidence or other reports needed in the workplace.
Workshop Inclusions
The workshop fee includes:
presentations by expert facilitators from Em-Four Pty Ltd,
provision of print and electronic resources, and, most importantly,
participation of attendees in practice interviews,
meals and refreshments are also provided throughout the day.
A Certificate of Attendance for the workshop is provided to each attendee.
In addition, each attendee will have the opportunity to complete post-workshop assessment. Post-workshop assessment is included in the fee
Certification and Accreditation
Participants who demonstrate competence in the post workshop assessment task will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the complete competency unit PSPREG411A – Gather Information Through Interviews. This competency unit is from the Nationally Recognised Public Sector Training Package.
Completion of this workshop and the assessment task will constitute completion of the interviewing element of competence from the unit RUV4209A – Prepare and Present Animal Control and Regulation Case. This element of competency is taken from the Nationally Recognised Animal Care & Management Training Package.
Certificate IV in Animal Control & Regulation
The Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation is a Nationally Recognised qualification. Em-Four has established a strategic partnership with Animal Industries Resource Centre to deliver the Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation. The two training organisations bring different perspectives to the qualification to ensure that its graduates have all of the skills needed to respond to the challenges of the Animal Control environment in local government and related areas.
